This page is self explanatory. CMS Sucks and it’s time that the people of Jackson not only spoke up but It is way time that we had choices regarding who we do business with where energy is concerned. It’s pretty slick how they can throw a few bucks at some state government programs in exchange for permission to jack up our energy costs.
Class Action Lawsuit
But I have another interesting issue to fill you in on. There have been rumors floating around regarding a class action lawsuit against CMS and here is one of the reasons. A great number of residents feel that CMS should be required to physically read the meters EVERY month on rental properties in Jackson and in the State of Michigan.
Lets say that last winter there were 7 people living in xyz rental property and they moved out in the spring. This summer 2 people moved into the rental property and as the months progressed, the temperature dropped as fall turns to winter and the energy bill starts going up and up and up. The tenants living there this winter found out that CMS is not reading the meter and billing them according the the usage of 2 people, but they are billing them based on the amount of energy 7 people used last winter.
